CFS FLOORING COMMITMENT TO THE CARE SECTOR

The care sector continues to be an area where interior design can have a real impact on health and wellbeing, helping to promote a positive environment for people living within an assisted living facility. Over 700m² of CFS Scala Plain was installed by local contractor, Vince Mantel Flooring for Coldwells Care Home recent architectural refurbishment.  The stylish flooring transformed Coldwells Care Home in Hereford. Situated just out the scenic Hereford city centre, Coldwell Care Home is a versatile care facility that is managed by dedicated and well-trained carers. It prides itself on its friendly and professional patient care service for a number of residents with care needs, and their families.

Ensuring flexibility in design and prolonging the life of the building, CFS Scala Plain design was fitted within the bedrooms, stairs, hallways, dining room and living area. The colours chosen from the range was best suited to complement the natural light and surrounding countryside for its residents.

Helping to bring ‘the outside in’ and creating a relaxing and calming environment, the colour ‘Oasis’ was chosen for its warm green tones. CFS Scala Plain comes with impervious foam backing to help repel liquid spills, which makes it easier to clean and maintain in the long term.

The walkway and stairs were instantly refreshed using warm shades of Nimbus and using the same colour will help residents at Coldwells Care Home to navigate the building to ensure they perceive the flooring as a continuous surface.

Cool shade Dove was chosen to complement the colour schemes for the bedroom and living areas for a modern feel and to promote a calm and comfortable environment. This is especially important to support the specific needs of residents living with Dementia.

This popular range has now been expanded to incorporate a plain and trellis pattern called CFS Scala Solutions and offers a 10-year guarantee.  CFS Scala is also bleach cleanable for easy maintenance. In addition to supplying the floor coverings, Carpet & Flooring was able to provide a full complement of accessories, including nosings, adhesives, and screeds.
